Mohsen Vaziri Moghaddam (1924–2018), born in Tehran, was an Iranian painter, sculptor and educator. Experimentation with abstraction, material and movement shaped his work in Iran and Italy.
His sand paintings and articulated sculptures make the relationship between body, tools and material part of the creative process. The transition from representation to abstract space is important to his development.
Studied at Tehran’s Faculty of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, 1955–1958; attended Toti Scialoja’s classes in 1957.
