Pariyoush Ganji, born in Tabriz in 1945, is an Iranian painter, textile designer and educator. Textile design, Iranian ornamental traditions and international study have informed the development of her visual language.
Visual Language and Media
Windows, flowers, trees and landscapes recur in her paintings. Abstraction, expressive colour and an interest in light connect different periods of her work.
Education and Training
She trained at Tehran’s Girls’ School of Fine Arts, learned textile design and printing from her father, and continued her artistic education in London and Paris.
Artistic Practice and Projects
Alongside painting, her career has included teaching textile design and researching connections between Iranian and Japanese art.
